This project was a design for a website to introduce rock climbing as an Olympic sport. The sport was to make its Olympic debut in the 2020 Olympic Games but the games were cancelled due to the coronavirus. This website, ‘The Climb,’ was made to introduce people to the different aspects of the sport and let them know what they can expect to see when the Olympics does eventually happen. The goal of this website is to let people find out more about this sport that is gaining popularity. The website is designed to be responsive, so it will look good no matter which device the website is being viewed on.

The Problem Space

The Olympics is one of the oldest and most popular sporting events in the world. New events get added to it all the time. For the 2020 Olympics (rescheduled for 2021), one of the new events is rock climbing. This role of this project is to explain what it will look like in its Olympic debut.

The target audience for this project is people who enjoy watching sporting events. The people who this project will appeal to are those who enjoy the Olympics and like to keep abreast with the news about it.

The Solution

The solution was a website that explained the three events that make up rock climbing in the Olympics. It explains the sport as a whole, how each event is scored and what the differences are between the men’s and women’s events.
