BOARD AND BREW MOBILE

The Problem Space

This project was a mobile-first redesign for the Board and Brew company website. The Board and Brew is a board game cafe in College Park, MD, however, their current website does not do a good job of expressing who they are as a company and it does not do a good job of appealing to their usual clients. Their website is dull, difficult to navigate and does not express the modern but vibrant personality of the business. The goal behind this project is to redesign the website starting with the mobile view. The Board and Brew is a company in College Park, MD that is close to the University of Maryland. The problem is that even though it is a place that people can eat, relax and entertain themselves or get some work done, their current website does not effectively express that.

The Target Audience

The target audience for this project is college students and young professionals, people who are between the ages of 18 and 30 years old. The business is located in a place that is frequented by college students and the people who work around the area.

User Research

The users of this website would be someone who is looking for a place to relax and have fun. They may be new to the area or they are just looking for somewhere new to visit with their friends. However, the city is big and they want an easy way to find out what nearby businesses offer so they can make a quick decision about whether or not they would like to go there.

Board and Brew Mobile Persona

The Solution

The solution was a mobile-first website design that was both simple and inviting. As a regular customer, I believe these are characteristics that embody the business. The website is designed to give people information about what they can expect when they go there. It explains what the business is like, what items they have on the menu and what games they can expect to find there. All of this information is given in a way that is easy to understand. What makes this redesign work is that it makes use of white space and has a simple colour scheme that allows the user to focus on the desired information.
